Emma Hanks

About Me

Emma Hanks has experienced many changes in the past year and has embraced them thoroughly. She grew up in Pinckneyville, moved to Ava her sophomore year summer, and now is a senior who attends Trico Senior High School. She is currently employed at 17th Street Barbecue in Murphysboro and has worked there as a hostess since August of 2020. Emma plans on attending SIU-C, and is interested in becoming a biomedical engineer or an actuary. She has taken college classes since the fall semester of 2020 through the John A. Logan dual enrollment program. Emma is CPR certified and has a perfect GPA. She is trustworthy, having been entrusted with working with the cash register at her place of employment. She is a hard worker, having 14 hour days three out of the five weekdays. Emma takes care of her one year old dog, Ollie, goes to school and work, and does homework all in one day, allowing her to have great time management skills. She is very responsible, having been appointed Chief Covid Officer of this year's Jackson CEO class. As CCO, she must make sure all COVID-19 protocols are followed by everyone, everyday. Emma has participated in multiple activities and extracurriculars such as: band, stage crew, archery, colorguard, FBLA, FCA, Spanish club, science club, academic challenge, and yearbook. She was a junior marshall at last year's baccalaureate and graduation services because of her outstanding grades and is on track to graduate as a valedictorian. Emma has also received much recognition for her outstanding academics. She received student of the month in 2016 and has received high honor roll certificates since 2014. In addition, Emma won third place for English and second place for mathematics in regionals on the Academic Challenge team in spring of 2021.
