Today, the Jackson CEO students had the incredible opportunity to visit Crucial MRO in Murphysboro, IL — a fast-growing aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul company making major strides in Southern Illinois and beyond.
We were hosted by Wesley Perkins, Vice President, who gave us an inside look at Crucial’s vision, operations, and expansion journey.
Founded in 2002 by high school sweethearts turned co-owners Stacy and Marc Burton, Crucial has grown from humble beginnings into a fully certified full-service MRO with its own dedicated courier service, Crucial Express.
From their first component facilities to the newly-built “Crucial Aero Ranch” hangar complex at MDH — certified by the FAA in early 2024 for Class 2, 3, and 4 aircraft — Crucial continues to expand to meet the needs of its core customers, servicing aircraft over 12,500 lbs, from regional jets to narrow-body aircraft like the A320 and B737.
What started with two hangars in 2022 has quickly evolved into a powerful aviation hub right here in Southern Illinois — driven by customer demand, innovation, and vision.
