Jackson County CEO is off and rolling with our first few speakers of the year. The Jackson CEO board president Brian Croft dropped in on Monday to share his story of growing up with Craig Lindvahl as a teacher and mentor. We talked about what an incredible difference it makes to treat students like adults and hold them to higher standards. Brian shared a few great stories about “Mr. L” and how he would just deal with problems head on. No placing the blame, no crying over spilt milk... just frank conversations about keeping the promises you make.

On Tuesday Nicole connected us with an amazing speaker from the Lawrenceville community’s CEO program. Mark Bowler of Bowler Performance Transmission shared his story about finding his own path by following his passion. From humble beginnings in his families shop to the type of high end business that doesn’t have windows to protect his celebrity clients (From county music stars, to actors, to private car collectors) from prying eyes. It’s the type of building you could drive buy every day and never know it was there. In fact Mark even shared a story about running into one of his high school class mates in the grocery store who asked him “How long are you back in town for?”

Mark’s never left town, he has just slowly grown his business under the radar in his for years. He’s not the type of guy to brag (“The only place I want your autograph is on the check”), but he is absolutely the type of guy to help show a group of young entrepreneurs that you can make it big following your passion no matter where you are, even in a small town.
